Minority Health Month

April 13, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Join us on April 13, 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. ET for the first of a two-part series on the Study of Racial Disparities from the New York State Department of Health, Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities Prevention (OMH-HDP) in celebration of #MinorityHealth Month.

We are so pleased that Rehan Mehmood, our Director of Health Services, will be presenting on the panel, sharing SACSS’s research of the impact of the pandemic not only on community members’ health but the additional discrimination and violence they experience based on their race and ethnicity.

This research was supported by the Study of Racial Disparities (SORD) which funded four AAPI serving agencies – SACSS, Arab-American Family Support Center, Korean Community Services and Chinese-American Planning Council – that provide health and wellness programs to their communities. Community leaders from each of the organizations will share their experiences, findings, lessons learned, and recommendations based on their study.

To register for this event, please send your name and affiliation to OMHHDP@health.ny.gov.
