Jayne Bentzen, co-founder of Benedict Silverman Foundation, visits SACSS

SACSS recently had the pleasure of welcoming Jayne Bentzen, co-founder of the Benedict Silverman Foundation, along with her granddaughter Lucy Hunter. During their visit, Jayne and Lucy became the very first customers of our Stitch with SACSS potli hand-bags, designed and stitched by the talented women who attend our classes.

Visits like Jayne’s play an important role in strengthening our community. She had the opportunity to see firsthand the impact of our programs, like the 2,200 families served each week through our food pantry and the clients seeking guidance on health insurance and counseling with our program managers.

She also met seniors participating in yoga and Zumba classes that encourage physical wellness and open conversations about mental health, observed volunteers working tirelessly to keep the pantry running smoothly, and learned how our stitching, English, and computer classes are helping participants build new skills and confidence for a brighter future.

We are deeply grateful for Jayne’s visit and for the continued support of the Benedict Silverman Foundation, whose generosity helps make our work at SACSS possible.
