SACSS Celebrates SYLP Graduates and Dedicated Volunteers
The SACSS office was filled with celebration as we recognized the graduates of our Student Youth Leadership Program (SYLP) and honored our dedicated volunteers with certificates of appreciation for their time, hard work, and support, especially at the SACSS Food Pantry.

Serial entrepreneur and community builder Deepti Sharma and Xin Ying Wu, Budget Director from Council Member Sandra Ung’s office, joined us to celebrate the students and volunteers and present their certificates.

The SYLP students also had the opportunity to present their passion projects, in the presence of their family members who came to support their children, putting their creativity and skills into action after completing sessions focused on leadership, communication, arts, media, and more. Their projects explored topics including cybersecurity, maintaining a nutritious diet, and art, giving each student a chance to share an issue or interest that matters to them.

The celebration continued as SACSS recognized volunteers who help keep our programs running and make it possible for us to provide services to New Yorkers. Volunteers contribute their time across different programs, with many playing an important role at the Food Pantry by helping with food packing and distribution.

We are proud to see young people grow through SACSS as students, volunteers, and emerging community leaders. Their energy, ideas, and commitment continue to make a meaningful contribution to the SACSS community..
