Celebrating Our Summer Youth Leadership Program Graduates

Celebrating Our Summer Youth Leadership Program Graduates
SYLP Cohort 2025 with Director Mary Archana Fernandez, Program Manager Nushmia Shafique, Councilmember Linda Lee, and ED Sudha Acharya

Recently, we celebrated the graduation of our Summer Youth Leadership Program (SYLP) cohort. Throughout the program, our young leaders strengthened essential skills in critical thinking, teamwork, public speaking, and language development, preparing them to step into the future with confidence.

The graduation ceremony was filled with pride and inspiration. Council Member Linda Lee joined us to congratulate the graduates and present them with City-certified certificates, recognizing their hard work and dedication. SACSS Board member Mysore Gandhi also joined the celebration.

Each student took the stage to share a presentation on a topic of their choice. Some spoke about personal dreams, such as becoming a lawyer, while others explored issues close to their hearts, including environmental conservation. Their presentations reflected how much they have grown in both confidence and leadership.

Alongside our youth leaders, we also celebrated the dedicated SACSS volunteers who are the backbone of our programs, especially our food pantry. Certificates of appreciation were presented to honor their service. From unloading deliveries to packing and distributing food, our volunteers ensure families in our community are supported with care.
