SACSS Rallies with CACF’s 18% and Growing Campaign for Fair Funding to Support AAPI Communities

This month, our SACSS staff and clients participated in the 18% & Growing Campaign events in Manhattan and Queens, calling on the City Council to invest in a fair and equitable budget that protects and supports the needs of our AAPI community members in New York City.

On May 28, we rallied with other member organizations outside of Queens Borough Hall, asking the city to enhance funding for the AAPI Community Support Initiative, Access Health NYC Initiative, and the Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund.

Growing Campaign

As recipients of the AAPI Community Support Initiative and the Access Health NYC Initiative – SACSS provides culturally responsive and linguistically accessible case management, health outreach case management, and education services to hard-to-reach populations, especially Asian communities that face numerous barriers to services.

The 18% & Growing Campaign is asking for a budget that includes enhanced funding for:

    • $7.5 million for the AAPI Community Support Initiative
    • $7.5 million for the Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund (CCNSF)
    • $4 million for the Access Health Initiative

SACSS stands united with 90 AAPI-led and serving organizations across NYC as part of the 18% & Growing Campaign led by CACF, the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families. Together, we are a formidable force advocating for the needs and rights of our community!
