SACSS Champions Support for AAPI Communities

For multiple years, SACSS staff and clients have proudly participated in the 18% & Growing Campaign, led by Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF), to raise awareness about the evolving needs of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities across New York City.

The 18% & Growing Campaign advocates for programs and services that support underserved and marginalized communities throughout the city. The campaign also highlights the importance of sustaining AAPI-led and community-based organizations that provide essential services and resources.

Through this work, SACSS offers culturally responsive and linguistically accessible case management, health outreach, and educational services to underserved populations, particularly Asian communities that often face barriers to accessing care and support.

On May 12, 2026, SACSS joined fellow member and partner organizations in a coalition of 92 AAPI-led organizations outside Queens Borough Hall to support continued investment in community initiatives, including the AAPI Community Support Initiative, Access Health NYC Initiative, and the Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund.

“Our programs are not just services; they are a safety net for our community,” said Sushmita Diyali, Senior Program Manager at SACSS. “When programs and systems are confusing or complex to navigate, we help connect community members with the healthcare and resources they need.”
