SACSS Offers Multilingual Health Coverage Support at #MCCAP Rally

SACSS and other community-based organizations recently gathered at a Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program (MCCAP) rally on May 24th at City Hall Park to advocate for more protections on healthcare coverage for low-income individuals through a new MCCAP Initiative.

The new MCCAP program offers assistance to New York City residents enrolled in public health insurance to mitigate coverage and access issues expected to arise with the federal government’s end to the Covid pandemic’s Public Health Emergency (PHE) programs.

While at the event, SACSS shared information with attendees and passersby about our culturally-informed support in 19 languages to help New Yorkers, especially immigrants, learn more about coverage options and how to navigate the healthcare system.

SACSS called on our ever supportive NYC Council Members Sandra Ung, Shekar Krishnan, Linda Lee and NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, to ensure continued funding to MCCAP, which plays a vital role in safeguarding the health and well-being of low income residents in the city.
