Sudha Discusses the Future National Museum of AAPI History and Culture

SACSS Executive Director Sudha Acharya was interviewed on July 15th by TV host Hena Doba of Cheddar News to discuss the significance of the future National AAPI Museum of History and Culture. President Biden recently signed bill H.R. 3525 for the creation of the museum at the White House, where Sudha was in attendance along with many other AAPI Community Leaders.  

Regarding the AAPI Museum, Sudha remarked “As the fastest growing community [in the United States], our [AAPI] contribution has to be recognized.”  Sudha’s response reflects on the many historic contributions that AAPI communities have made to the United States, and the importance of representation and awareness. Sudha and Hena also discussed the recent surge in AAPI hate crimes and the culturally competent work SACSS is doing to support AAPI and immigrant communities during this time, the pandemic, and throughout its history.
