SACSS senior center hosts successful ‘March Makeover’ event with celebrity makeup artist Kanwal Batool

We were thrilled to have celebrity makeup artist Kanwal Batool teach our senior women simple makeup tips to look and feel fabulous during our first-ever March Makeover event, which was held last week in our SACSS senior center. 

Kanwal led a hands-on demonstration on one of our senior members who volunteered to do a makeover. She tentatively engaged the women in learning to gently enhance their features, such as eyebrows, eyelashes, and lips.  

During this makeover session, our seniors learned how to lightly apply foundation that matches their skin tone, using cream bronzers and blushes, eyeshadows, mascara for fuller, thicker eyelashes, and a subtle shade of lipstick to create a simple daytime makeup look. 

When asked how she felt following the makeover, our senior member said she looked great, exuding her self-confidence even more. Everyone was amazed by the final look and asked about makeup and skincare products to use.

Three of our seniors won prizes in a raffle and thanked Kanwal for coming to the SACSS community center. After hearing about SACSS’ initiatives, Kanwal said she was “eager to come and give back to our community and be part of it.”

“It was nice to see the audience’s engagement. I think it’s so important to feel amazing from the inside and demonstrate it with makeup on the outside,” Kanwal said. 

Our community members were happy to meet Kanwal, and we thank her for taking the time to come by SACSS to share her makeup tips and tricks, which help women feel empowered, motivated, positive, and confident. Because when you look good, you feel good about yourself!
