Community Options Inc. volunteers lend a helping hand at SACSS Food Pantry

SACSS is always in need of volunteers to help in our food pantry, which feeds hundreds of community members weekly. On March 27, we welcomed Danielle Jefferson, Nathaniel Nugent, and Jean Gregoire from Community Options Inc., a national nonprofit that develops housing and employment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.

Danielle assisted Nathaniel and Jean, who packed food staples such as rice, lentils, and dal.

“I wanted to show them that they can do different things in the community and should not be afraid to come out and help. They’re welcomed anywhere just the same as everyone else,” said Danielle, a direct support professional at Community Options Inc.

As a national agency, Community Options seeks to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the community through person-centered and natural support and collaboration with community partners to increase accessibility to services.

SACSS appreciates Danielle, Nathaniel, and Jean from Community Options Inc. for volunteering their time to help support our food pantry!
