Standard Chartered Bank Volunteers Give Back to the Flushing Community at SACSS Food Pantry

We sincerely appreciate the invaluable contribution of the volunteers from Standard Chartered Bank in assisting our food pantry staff in packaging and distributing grocery bags to community members.

Ram Aildasani, Haseeba Karim, Kiran Kumaranayakam, and Eukyung Hong packed oats, grains, rice, pasta, milk, and other food items.

“For me, volunteering is a way to give back to the community, whether through monetary donations, material support, or investing my time and effort for a cause larger than myself,” shared Kiran. “Ultimately, it’s about positively impacting individuals’ lives.”

Standard Chartered Bank encourages its employees to volunteer in their local community. May is Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and according to Haseeba, she and her colleagues wanted to volunteer at an organization helping underserved Asian communities.

“I’m impressed with the amount of traffic outside. Just seeing the number of people in line and the operation SACSS has going is truly impressive,” Ram said.

SACSS thanks Ram, Haseeba, Kiran, and Eukyung for their time and assistance in giving back to the Flushing community!
